Deep Dish Dungeon demo first look and first impressions. Going into this I was expecting more of a puzzle-focused dungeon crawler, but after about an hour with the demo, it feels a lot closer to maze crawling/metroidvania than an actual puzzle game.
That doesn’t mean it’s bad. There’s something interesting here, especially if you’re into slower dungeon exploration and figuring out your way through layouts, but if you’re coming in expecting deeper puzzle mechanics, that part didn't really seem there right now. A lot of what you’re doing is navigating rather than solving.
Overall, I’d say it’s definitely worth checking out if this kind of game is your thing, but I’m not convinced I’d pick it up at launch based on the demo alone. It’s one I’ll keep an eye on and see how it develops.
