I have received this video from a number of SAFTENG members, all claiming this to be a BLEVE. After careful study of the video footage (not that great) I am not sure this was a BLEVE, but rather a Heat-Induced Tear (HIT). The video is just not good enough for me to see all the signs I need to see to declare this was a BLEVE. The venting seems to be a bit aggressive for an atmospheric tank. We can not even tell if this was a ATM tank or a pressure vessel. Until then, we can debate the evidence the video does provide.
