The NG supplier has come out and claimed this explosion did not involve their NG. ...there were no immediate problems found at the scene of the explosion. “Our system operated as designed,”
But I can say with very little doubt that the explosion was a flammable gas explosion. It may not have been the NG supplied by the local provider; however, the family may have been "preppers" and stored flammable gas cylinders in the home or they may have had a bulk tank as a backup to the NG supply in which the NG supplier may not have been party to either of these flammable gas supplies.
