Asteroids was one of many smash hits of the early arcade era that defined the game. Funny then, that little known are its sequels, Asteroids: Deluxe, and even less so Blasteroids. Blasteroids, unlike the first two games, Released to Arcades in 1988, Blasteroids would modernize Asteroids, pixel graphics, music, a story and a final boss, but has little cultural legacy. Releasing in 1988 in arcades, Blasteroids would only see ports to the PCs of its era, and the Amiga, Atari ST, and Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, MS-DOS, MSX, and Zed Ex Speccy in 1989, never appearing on collections or ports, with the exception of 2015’s LEGO Dimensions for Xbox 360 and One, PS3 and 4, and Wii U.
