Estuaries and wetlands are important foraging habitat for wading birds. Check out this Blacksmith plover as they search for lunch!

The African Bioacoustics Community Sound Library focuses on building and bolstering sound libraries for African wildlife. Citizen scientists can play an important role by contributing data which can later be used for a variety of ecological and public engagement purposes.

We invite you to listen to the life around you and contribute to our project. Here is how you can do that:
- Record the sounds while appreciating the wildlife, such as birds, mammals and fish;
- Preferentially make your records in .WAV format;
- Try to spend at least 30s recording your focal animal;
- Upload your recordings together with photograph and/or video for species identification

To help us continue this project, please consider donating towards our work: africanbioacoustics.org/donations

To keep up to date with our latest work, conferences, publications and opportunities, please consider subscribing to our mailing list and social media platforms.
