Programmers at New Mexico's Los Alamos laboratories, the birthplace of the atomic bomb, develop the first blackjack program on an IBM-701 computer.
In 1954, a team of scientists ran millions of simulated hands of blackjack on an IBM 701 in an attempt to determine the best playing decision for every combination of cards. The result of this study was one set of correct rules for hitting, standing, doubling or splitting in a blackjack game. These rules are still the same today.

Datsun 280 ZZZAP, also released unbranded as Midnight Racer is an early racing arcade game by Midway designed by Jay Fenton.
Midway got the license from other racer game called , Night Racer designed by Ted Michon for Micronetics
the two companies reportedly struck a licensing deal whereby both would release their games at the same time.
Midnite Racer was introduced at the 1976 AMOA show in November. Confusion likely reigned on the show floor as two other versions of the same game - Micronetics’ Night Racer and Atari’s Night Driver – appeared at the very same show.
The name Midnite Racer, however, didn’t last long. After the show, Bally cooked up a promotion that included a grand prize of a 1977 Datsun 280Z.
Realizing that their new video driving game would be a perfect tie-in, they renamed it 280 Zzzap
The title was named after the US advertising campaign for the Datsun 280Z.
Players can drive up to 200 miles per hour (320 km/h) while navigating a tricky road course at night. Players must watch out for treacherous turns, nasty competitors, and the ever-present time limit.
It is one of the earliest games, if not the earliest, with authorized branding.
