Black Myth: Wukong: How to Defeat the First Prince of Flowing Sands: Tips, Tricks, and Hidden Secret
After smashing your controller and questioning every life choice that led you to face the Black Wind King and Black Bear Guai, you finally stumble into Chapter 2, thinking, "How much worse can it get?" And then, what do you find? A giant rat. But don’t worry—this First Prince of Flowing Sands is more like the dessert after the main course.
Now, this oversized rodent is significantly larger and more unpredictable than his younger brother. He’s the type of boss who thinks he’s all that because he’s bigger, but we know better. You’ll find him hiding in a cave just past Sandgate Village, waiting to throw down.
If you spared the King of Flowing Sands earlier, he’s run here to summon his big, bad son. But here’s the kicker—Junior here doesn’t appreciate his dad’s meddling, so he takes out the old man himself before turning his attention to you. If you did the deed earlier, you can summon this big rat by tossing down some delightful Pungent Flesh Chunk at the cliff's edge—because who doesn’t love a good snack?
Now, let’s talk about his moves. The First Prince is a heavy hitter with a variety of large, sweeping attacks. His favorite is a lunging two-hand slam that sends dust flying everywhere, but with quick reflexes, you can dodge to the side and counterattack while he’s busy looking dramatic. He also loves his hand slams in quick succession and throws in a slower swipe for good measure—dodge backward from that one unless you want a face full of paw.
One of his more intimidating moves has him standing up with his arms wide, then stumbling forward with a massive swing before toppling over. This covers a wide area, so dodge toward the side where his arms are raised to avoid the swing. And don’t let his size fool you—he’s got a swift lunge attack that can catch you off guard. Watch for the subtle cue when he pulls one arm back before launching forward. If you spot it early, try using Immobilize to interrupt him and save yourself the trouble.
Oh, and here’s a fun trick—if you lure him into smashing a curved wall, he might just reveal a hidden treasure. Because who doesn’t love a good secret?
Once you’ve turned this giant rat into a furry pancake, you’ll get some sweet rewards: an Arhat Gold Piece, 1102 Experience, 1020 Will, and more. And there you have it—one less Yaoguai to worry about in the world of Black Myth: Wukong.
