The Black Hills Central Railroad runs alongside many ranches with cattle and other animals. One ranch between Palmer Gulch and Oblivion has a large amount of cows. On this day, the cows were on and next to the track, preventing the 108 from continuing on. The local sheriffs were called to help clear the cows from the right of way. With the cows running between the two sides of the track, and mooing very loudly, this sure made for a funny and very memorable moment on my trip to the Black Hills Central Railroad.
