In 2020, I wasn't ready for the depth and thematic weight that BioShock carries, but now in 2026, I'm completely blown away by this title. This finale hit so much harder on a revisit because it wasn't just about reaching Fontaine or seeing Rapture's story end; it was about Jack finally getting to choose what kind of person he wanted to be after spending the whole game as someone else's weapon. There's always more depth to discover, more connections to make, and more little details waiting to change your understanding, but that's what's great about most video games - they can offer more with each playthrough because we're not the same person every time we return to them.
I love saying that some titles are the right game at the wrong time and that's absolutely the case with this franchise for me. First playthroughs are not the only experiences that bring value and I hope yall enjoyed getting to relive this game with me.
