http://www.amolf.nl The research at FOM Institute AMOLF focuses on answering fundamental questions and actively exploring applications in the field of nanophotonics and biomolecular systems. In addition, AMOLF has started a new programme on photovoltaics, the conversion of sunlight to electricity.
AMOLF is located at the Science Park in Amsterdam and employs about 200 FTE staff (140 research staff and 60 support staff). Scientists at AMOLF develop new research methods and techniques for these disciplines and in so doing they establish crossdisciplinary links. They also pass the knowledge and skills required on to each other and to young researchers and technicians. The latter move on into positions in Dutch industry, the government and education.
AMOLF is one of the three research institutes of the Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter (FOM) http://www.fom.nl/live/english/home.pag.
