Bike Route: From Waterfront Drive to Kildonan Park using the North Winnipeg Parkway.
I HAVE TURNED OFF COMMENTS ON THIS VIDEO because I was getting a lot of comments about the unhoused community. I always tell people to use discretion when following my bike routes and the reason I make these videos is to show exactly what it looks like so that people can make their own decisions. I personally feel safer going through an encampment then being on the road with careless drivers. But as a woman, there are many times I feel unsafe so I understand. These days I feel more unsafe in my comments section than on the road. It’s amazing isn’t it? Anonymity breeds bravery.
This is another video in a series about #cyclingroutes in #Winnipeg. Today we will go from Waterfront Drive to Kildonan Park using the North Winnipeg Parkway, which runs through the neighbourhoods of Point Douglas, St Johns and the Neighbourhood Greenway of Scotia St.
This also involves sidewalk riding because some stretches have no safe bike infrastructure, and there are some trails without lighting, so please use caution.

WATERFRONT DRIVE TO KILDONAN PARK CHAPTER MARKERS:
00:34 - Starting at Waterfront & Bannatyne
02:56 - Just past the roundabout, take a right into the path
03:53 - At the end of the path, take a left onto Anabella
04:32 - Keep going straight on Anabella till the end.
05:51 - Make a left on Rover.
07:10 - At the end of Rover, take the path through Michelle Jean park
08:15 - Keep going straight on the path between the houses
08:53 - Take a left at the fork
09:17 - Go straight on Burrows Ave
09:39 - Take the path on the right between the houses.
09:49 - Keep going straight.
10:00 - Straight into Aberdeen playground.
10:14 - Take the right side of the path.
10:28 - Don’t do what I did, take a left instead.
10:46 - The path
11:19 - Crossing Main St. 0/10 do not recommend.
13:15 - Go through the parking lot at Main and Redwood
13:40 - Take the sidewalk on your right for a short stretch
13:56 - Turn right into St John’s Park.
15:08 - Exit the park onto St. Cross St.
17:10 - Turn right at Bannerman Ave.
19:08 - Follow Matheson Ave E back to Scotia St.
19:17 - Turn right on Scotia St.
23:27 - Turn left on Forrest Ave.
23:50 - Turn right on Marymound Ave.
24:14 - Turn right on Leila Ave.
25:13 - Turn left on Scotia St.
