Another video in a series about cycling routes in Winnipeg. These routes are a combination of things we’ve tried on our own and some advice we have gotten from people in the know. This video will show how we get from The Forks to Elmwood/North Kildonan through St. Boniface, using some quiet neighbourhood streets. This ride is shown in real time. You may use the chapter markers below if you’re using this video on the go as a guide through the route.

This ride is rated Beginner+ because we take some quiet roads - not all beginners are comfortable riding a bike on the road. Hopefully, this video will help you feel like it’s possible. I also ride on the sidewalk for a couple of blocks because this connection still SUCKS THE BAG! It’s slowly getting better but, MY WORD, how old will I be when this finally happens?

FORKS TO NK VIA ST. B - Chapter Markers
1:02 - Take Esplanade Riel ped/cycle bridge going East
2:00 - Cross Tache Ave. and turn left at the lights
2:40 - Follow Tache Ave. going North to Notre Dame
3:07 - Turn right on Notre Dame
5:33 - Go straight over the train tracks and make a right onto the path
6:30 - Going over the painted bridge
7:25 - Continue straight on Notre Dame
7:59 - Turn left on La Fleche St.
9:19 - Turn right on La Verendrye St.
8:48 - Hit the beg button to cross Archibald
9:11 - Take the crappy sidewalk on the East side of Archibald
10:56 - Make a sharp U-turn to get onto the new path
13:01 - Continue on Northeast Pioneers Greenway - you can go all the way to Birds Hill Park
