BETTER ME

From my second album, Hiding In The Spotlight (2019)
Recorded entirely using Garageband.
This was great fun to record - especially singing all the high pitched backing vocal parts.
My aim was to write a happy(ish) sounding song, but with a serious message behind it.
The song is essentially about someone who is trying to give up an addiction. They're fallen out with their 'happiness' and they've made the decision to go straight try to find a better version of themselves.
Recording-wise it's pretty simple; bass guitar, drums and a double tracked acoustic guitar.
Vocally there's a lot more going on... 17 separate vocal tracks to be precise.
I hand drew the artwork specifically for this video on my iPad Pro using the Procreate App. It took nearly 18 hours and almost 18,000 pencil strokes but I'm pretty happy with the end result.
