Trying to get Admin Console commands working in the Subnautica 2 Experimental Build?
Right now, the normal UE4SS-based console setup isn't compatible with the new Experimental version, but there is a much simpler alternative that can give you access to the developer command console again.
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to install:
Simple BP Mod Loader and Console enabler
nexusmods.com/subnautica2/mods/1?tab=description
This is currently one of the easiest ways to get Subnautica 2 Experimental console commands working again while waiting for the more advanced UE4SS setup to become compatible.
Installation is extremely simple.
You only need to download the mod and place its 3 included files inside the Subnautica 2 Paks folder.
For Steam, you can quickly find your game installation by going to:
Steam Library → Right-click Subnautica 2 → Manage → Browse Local Files
Then navigate to:
Subnautica2 → Content → Paks
Drop the three mod files into that folder.
Launch Subnautica 2 Experimental and you should now have access to the Unreal developer console.
Unlike the more polished console command mod that provides buttons and an easier graphical interface, this version is much more basic.
To use it, press the:
` key
to open the command console.
From there, you'll need to manually type the console command you want to use.
It's not nearly as glamorous, but for the current Experimental Build it gets the important job done: giving us Admin Console access again.
That means you can once again use developer commands for things like testing, exploration, screenshots, experimenting with unfinished content, and getting a better look at areas such as the upcoming Scorpius Trenches.
In this Subnautica 2 tutorial I'll show you:
✅ Why the old UE4SS console setup isn't currently working in Experimental
✅ The best current alternative for Admin Console access
✅ Where to download Simple BP Mod Loader and Console enabler
✅ How to find your Subnautica 2 installation folder
✅ Where to find the Paks folder
✅ Where to install the 3 mod files
✅ How to open the developer console
✅ How to manually enter console commands
✅ How to confirm the mod is working
✅ How this differs from the normal UE4SS console mod
If you're playing the Subnautica 2 Experimental Build and want console commands back right now, this is the method I'm currently using.
