I've been wanting to make this video for a while now. Here are the cameras I use, why I use them and the cameras that don't work for me. This gear is aimed for beginners to semi-professionals. It's not going to give RED Cinema camera quality. But, this gear is accessible to almost everyone. You can get out there and start filming with your phone and still get great results. But it can be overwhelming, so I put together a detailed video to help explain the basics and give you the pros and cons of all the gear I use. That way you can decide what works best for you and your unique needs.

SIDE NOTE: In my experience, the off brand camera batteries are garbage. Buy the official ones, even if they cost more. You'll thank me.
Camera #1 - Phone. No link here because there are tons of different models. Personally I've always used an iPhone, but choosing the best manufacturer and model is up to you.

I can't find it on Amazon, but I have the DJI brand mini tripod that screws onto the bottom of it. There are off brands available, but I really like the DJI one.

I bought the double mic package because I wanted to be able to mic up 2 people and I wanted a receiver to make it usable for my Canon. However, you can buy just the mic. As a side note, buying a single mic will also get you a single mic charger which is MUCH smaller than carrying the charger that comes with the two mic package. It's useful if you need to recharge the mic on the trail.
