El Arcotete is a beautiful eco park in the hills above San Cristóbal de las Casas and a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. There are several things that make this park stand out from others in the area and it is high on our list of top 10 things to do in San Cristobal. Arcotete is best known for its large natural archway, which opens into a cave at its top. Hiking trails run along the river through beautiful forest, with suspension bridges allowing easy access to either side. Besides its natural beauty there are picnic areas, a small store, horse riding, rock climbing, rappelling, and an awesome two phase zipline course.
