Scuff-X by Benjamin Moore airless sprayed using a Graco Ultra QuickShot airless paint sprayer and a Graco FF LP 208, Speed 5. Itâs surprising how easy Scuff-X sprays, especially with the QuickShot airless pressure so low with an FFLP 208 â considering this is a product that can also very easily be brushed and rolled.
The next long form PaintHQ YouTube video will show the relationship between paint viscosity and airless spray tip orifice size. Featuring Scuff-X and many other satin paint finishes, (mostly off the shelf trade paints). It will help beginners and anyone else needing help to understand airless spray tip selection. But first it all starts with a ceiling crack repair â see how to fix a drywall crack in ceiling. For this Iâll be using âPrestonett Flexible Crack Repair Fillerâ (picked up from Brewers Decorating Centre). Followed up with a 2â (52mm) fibre joint tape to add strength to the ceiling.

The Graco Ultra QuickShot is for small painting projects. Itâs a professional airless paint sprayer, and itâs important to understand when to not overwork the QuickShot and opt for a bigger airless paint sprayer..
Here Iâm spraying a small area of masonry, applying smooth masonry paint with the Graco QuickShot at LOW pressure, and back rolling. The low pressure is reducing the amount of âbounce backâ overspray, yes Iâm getting tails, but a nice spray pattern is not important because Iâm back rolling with a small rough surface, heavy pile roller ð Working at height off a ladder, with the QuickShot using a belt and holster, itâs quicker and easier than using a paint scuttle.. Iâm simply delivering paint to the wall.. and itâs quicker spraying those intricate areas ðšðš
