The Library hosted an electrifying recital from this duo of sought-after soloists: American violinist Benjamin Beilman and Scottish pianist Steven Osborne, joining their formidable forces for an unmissable evening. Noted for "rich sound and plenty of brilliance," (New York Times) Beilman has been gathering rave reviews for his performances with major orchestras worldwide, including a last-minute substitution with the Berlin Philharmonic at the Kennedy Center. The artists offerd a beautiful program, pairing sonatas by Brahms and Franck with works by two composers whose music is still being discovered: Clara Schumann's Three Romances, and two pieces by Lili Boulanger: "Nocturne," written when the composer was 18, and "Cortège."
