I’ve had a few guiderail questions recently particularly from Parkside #plungesaw users who’s options are limited when it comes to third-party rails, and in this video I show how you can get your hands on a cheap #Makita - pattern rail, and basically turn it into a #Festool - pattern rail, just using your plunge saw and stock blade. Or is that five?? I had a few conversations with my Patreon supporters and Youtube members recently following an exclusive video I posted for them that mapped my transition from photographer to carpenter/cabinetmaker, and it occurred to me that along that timeline there were certain tools that were pivotal to my development - and they were all from Festool. It started out as 3, then grew to 4, and maybe became 5 - and in this video, I talk briefly about each one, and why it made such a difference.
I think this has been one of the oddest years I can remember. Me and Mrs 10 Minutes will be spending Christmas together, just the two of use, for the first time in 27 years. We always knew this day would come - but I don’t think we expected it to be quite for these reasons, so I’d like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a very happy Christmas, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing. 👍👍

Having used the Festool CSCSYS50 cordless sliding table saw a bit more I realise that I really need to get it off the benches and onto a small cabinet, so I banged out a quick MDF box from whatever scraps and mis-matched offcuts I had to hand, all held together with loose tenons using the latest 10MW Loose Tenon Jig, the LTJ 30 - out very soon.

I noticed a little bit of scorching on some cuts recently and I realised that I’ve had the little #Festool #cordless #tablesaw for almost exactly 12 months and I’ve never actually cleaned it out, so in this video I’m going to open it up and have a look, give the blade clean and while I’m doing all that we’ll have a chat about how the saw’s done over the last year.
