How do you make the legendary C64 speech synthesizer SAM (Software Automatic Mouth) actually sing?
The secret is a little bit of old-school C64 magic… and a lot of manual “autotuning”! 😅
I take SAM’s speech syllable by syllable and manually adjust the pitch of every single syllable in FL Studio NewTone so that SAM follows the melody.
In this video, you can see exactly how I do it — from the original SAM voice to the finished singing performance, synchronized with the SID music.
No AI vocals. No modern vocal synth. Just SAM, the C64, FL NewTone and a ridiculous amount of manual pitch editing. 😂
And somehow… SAM can sing “Let It Go”! ❄️🎤
