This video introduces the Zeppelin Museum Friedrichshafen’s upcoming exhibition, ‘Image & Power’ (June 2025 – April 2026), offering behind-the-scenes look with participating artist Christelle Oyiri, alongside Regina Michel (Director & Curator, ZF Art Foundation), Mara Johanna Kölmel (Head of Art, Zeppelin Museum) and Christine Buechner (Archive & Library, Zeppelin Museum).
For the first time, the ZF Art Foundation is awarding stipends to artists to create new artworks based on their research in the museum’s collection and archive. Among them is Oyiri, who examines Zeppelin photography from a decolonial perspective. Here, the artist shares insights into her work, which integrates archival footage and various resources—including materials from the Hindenburg crash—to draw unexpected connections and explore the symbolic meanings of events and the impact of propaganda.
