Henry, a quiet tollbooth worker who is wrongly imprisoned for a bank robbery he didn’t commit. While in jail, he befriends a veteran con man who inspires him to change his life. After being released, instead of moving on, Henry decides to actually rob the same bank he was falsely accused of targeting. To do it, he joins a local theater group performing a play next door, using the stage as cover for his plan. Along the way, he unexpectedly falls in love with the leading actress, forcing him to choose between pursuing the crime or embracing a chance at a new life.
