I lived & worked near Knebworth House for over 15 years but somehow never visited, so today I’m finally going inside. It’s hot, the grounds are massive, Iron Maiden are setting up nearby, and there’s enough history here to fry my brain before I’ve even reached the gardens.

After walking my little legs off, avoiding a £4.50 sausage roll and cooling down with a cold drink in my new england bottle, I head towards Welwyn Garden City.

I revisit the industrial estates where I used to park after finishing nights on the lorries, where van life started for me all them years ago and check if my old motorhome spots still work.

I had to grab a cheeky dinner from Lee’s Fish and Chips, where I worked over 20 years ago, still best job ever, the team we had was amazing.
