Flaxland CL in Royal Wootton Bassett offers more than you might expect from a small CL site, with electric and water at every pitch, peaceful lakeside views, and a real sense of quiet once the fishery closes at 5pm. Tucked away just off the M4, it's an easy drive even for larger motorhomes, with plenty of space, a warm welcome, and loads of wildlife to spot, from herons to geese, massive shoutout to @lifebeyondbricks and @TheHillsExplore for finding and telling me about this cool CL.
During the stay I decided to try my fridge on hookup with its ongoing issue that’s been causing a few headaches and it's got me even more confused haha, find a bargain 12V coolbox on Facebook Marketplace, and make the most of a stunning sunset with some proper smash burgers.
Plus, there’s a surprise family gender reveal back in Harlow – and yes, I guessed right!
