In the fall of 1985, I was immersed in New Testament studies — learning Greek so I could read the text in its original language, praying one to two hours a day, spending hours exegeting Scripture. I loved it. I was fully committed.
But one morning I woke up with a question I couldn’t ignore:
How do I know this is true?
Before I devoted my life to Christ, I needed more than passion. I needed to wrestle honestly with the evidence. So I didn’t avoid the doubts — I followed them. I revisited the resurrection. I kept asking questions.
For me, faith couldn’t rest on familiarity. It had to rest on what is actually true.
