This video was made during an educational beekeeping coarse that I hosted with my bees.
The event was organized by Sam Williams from Echo Bonaire. echobonaire.org
Our visiting guest, Rob Horsburgh, works for the Florida Department of Agriculture. He is a beekeeper and works in the apiary department.
The event was held for several people interested in starting beekeeping, but also to remove beehives from the nesting areas of the parrots.
Instead of killing the bees Sam want to remove the beehives and move them into top bar beehives like the ones I have for at my Permaculture Garden.
Due to the drought, the bees were pretty much tired and their honey reserves emptied.
So, no honey tasting this time, but the educational value was well worth our time.
