I made my way to Ciro's Pizzeria & Beerhouse in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego to attempt their legendary Defibrillator Cheesesteak Challenge, and it definitely lives up to its name!

This 5.5 pound cheesesteak monstrosity is made with 25 ounces of chopped ribeye meat, plus 10 ounces each of pepperoni, sausage, and bacon. It's also loaded with green peppers, mushrooms, onions, fries, and 4 different cheeses, including Cheese Whiz, American, Provolone, and Swiss. Nine eggs sit on top, all served inside three 9-inch long buns. I had 45 minutes to finish everything or pay $50. Winners get the meal free, a t-shirt, and a spot on Ciro's Wall of Fame.
Let's just say this challenge didn't go exactly as planned.
