As of late September 2025, The Yellow Line now has 9 car trains, extended from the slightly shorter 8 car trains as rolled out under the 9/11/2023 change. Here are some clips taken during the weekend before the 9 car change was fully rolled out. In ATO, the 9th car sticks towards the rear of the train, leaving 1 car length of empty space ahead of the lead car.

Additionally, there are now double the number of 8 car peak commute-only trains on the Red, Green, and Blue Lines. Previously, there were x2 trains 8 car trains per line, which have now bumped up to x4 8 car trains. These temporarily replace 6 car trains used offpeak.

With a fleet of over 1000 D and E cars, there are plenty of spares to use for these longer trains.
