This unique has to be one of the smoothest elevated guideway systems I have ridden on. I shot this one night a few years ago when I was on my way to Oakland to fly out on Southwest. To me, a cable propelled tram this long over flat terrain is not the best technology choice. All the moving parts which includes the enormously long cable which has to be replaced periodically. There are many examples of Doppelmayr cable car systems such as a few in Las Vegas, Mexico City Airport, Toronto Airport, but this is by far the smoothest one I have personally ridden. I would prefer to see more low speed maglev systems, similar to the Linimo in Nagoya, Japan.

The University of Dortmund uses an automated suspended monorail to connect its campuses. The monorail has three lines, and can run their monorails with incredibly short frequency of 30 seconds.
This monorail is made by Siemens, and one other monorail like this exists. Its sister monorail is a updated version currently at the Düsseldorf International Airport.
