If you want to cut some corners when it comes to the lathe (literally!), making a jig like this will help do that. This makes lathe work a lot easier as you're not trimming back the corners, waiting to hit the actual meat of your stock. I've used this for years and there's nothing like these guys...they really do do a lot of work that you don't want to do later on.
