Cauls are a set of boards that you string vertical pieces of wood through. They then clamp down on those pieces. Due to their concave nature, they put clamping pressure in the middle of the stock, balancing pressure through out. I've made panel clamps which are close to cauls except that they merely keep the stock from moving out of plane. The cauls I'm going to show you in this video are incredible robust and will give you unbelievable flush boards.
