Tripura, June 13(ANI): Bamboo has turned out as a mode of self-employment for the tribal women of Tripura. These tribals are who are now able to earn their livelihood by making incense sticks out of raw bamboo. Tripura has about nineteen species of bamboo. Women refine the raw bamboo straws and make them usable for the production of incense sticks. The supplementary income not only empowers these tribal women but also helps them to support their education.
