Here is how ammunition actually works. Not a math class, not a physics lecture, just the things worth knowing if you own a gun and have never had anybody walk you through it.
The comments section asked for this one. After we talked about the 30-06 used to kill Charlie Kirk, and the conspiracy theory built on a missing exit wound, it was clear a lot of confident bad information was going around. So we spent a segment on the fundamentals.
In this segment:
-Cartridge, casing, powder, primer, projectile. A bullet is only one part of it
-FMJ versus hollow point, and why the cheap stuff belongs at the range and nowhere else
-The .380 hollow point argument, and a forensic ballistics expert's answer: it depends on the
brand, not the caliber
-Test ammo in your gun, not your model of gun. Dirtiest, driest, worst conditions you can find
-What an expanded hollow point actually looks like
-Duty ammo versus defensive ammo, and the penetration numbers behind the difference
