Join Miyagi, Trips, The Wanderer, Raspberry Al, Tiffany and Goose on a three day backpacking trip along the Two Hearted River in Michigan's Upper Peninsula along the North Country Trail, the longest national scenic trail in the United States.
Following his recuperation from an injury during his service in World War 1, renowned American Author Ernest Hemingway spent time with friends in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the area of the Two Hearted River. This fall adventure in the year 1919 was later the inspiration for his famous short story "The Big Two Hearted River".
In Hemingway's stories he typically position nature as a source of refuge and rebirth. His characters are often shown retreating to the country in search of regeneration. On this adventure along the North Country Trail we would be seeking our own form of refuge and regeneration as we follow in the footsteps of one of America' greatest literary champions of the backcountry, Ernest Hemingway.
