Miyagi and Trips travel to upstate New York just outside of Lake Placid to the Adirondack Mountain in the High Peaks Region. During their 15 mile trek starting at the St. Huberts trailhead, they summit Gothics Peak and Pyramid Peak by way of the Beaver Meadow Trail, stopping first at the picturesque Beaver Meadow Falls.
Gothics Peak is truly one of the greatest peaks in the northeast, hands down! The views are absolutely incredible, with rugged and demanding routes to the peak. The hike up via the Beaver Meadow Trail is a butt-kicker! Be prepared for extremely slow miles.
Pyramid is not typically a destination peak, but it should be. Pyramid is up over 4000' in elevation and boasts some of the best views in the Adirondacks. Because it is so close to Gothics it cannot be delineated as a 46er High Peak. It's nestled in the valley of Sawteeth and Gothics with the open views of the steep cliffs of the Great Range.
