Axle Hitch Tow Rope - Useful Knot for Dragging Heavy Objects - or Emergency Towing
The Axle Hitch is mentioned in ABoK 162 as a useful hitch for emergency towing, or the pulling of heavy objects. In Ashley's the Axle Hitch is finished off with a Bowline, but Ashley's recommends also using a Midshipman's Hitch. My personal preference is to use the Imitation Slipped Bowline, as it makes it so much easier to undo.
