In AWS, security groups act as a virtual firewall, providing a layer of security around your EC2 instances. It’s a simple concept, but if you don’t understand it, and don’t configure them correctly, you can get the dreaded “This site can’t be reached” or “took too long to respond” errors!
In this video, I’ll walk you through the theory of security groups, how inbound and outbound rules work, and then we’ll go to the AWS Console and create our own custom security group for an EC2 instance.
