Leif has some of the most broken skills for a unit in the series so far, specifically because of what his build is in Engage. The main thing that makes his skillset so strong is his Engage Skill, Adaptable. It basically lets him counter with the best weapon against the unit that is attacking him. However, in Engage, this would often put him at a big disadvantage, which kind of made it a subpar skill. In this series though, since I am the one controlling each of the units' actions, the weapon that he equips when getting countered is actually the best weapon for him in that situation. So if he needs some extra Def, he can equip Alondite/Vague Katti, if he needs some extra Spd, he can equip Rexflame, etc. And speaking of weapons, he has all of the beorc ones except for Knives and Dark at his disposal, so he'll have plenty of options when countering. Now, getting to his other skills, he has access to Adept from FE4/5 and Vantage from his Engage build. So now, not only can he counter with the best weapon for each situation, he can proc Vantage and Adept at the same time which can just outright defeat his opponents before they even get a chance. And because he has a decent Lck stat, meaning he can initiate more, he can start out using some 1 range weapons like the Brave weapons or Urvan for extra damage and then automatically switch to a ranged weapon if the opponent decides to attack from range on their turn. He's also incredibly speedy thanks to a lot of help from the Bld+ skills in Engage and the fact that he gets access to Adept twice (once from FE4/5 and once from Quadruple Hit in Engage), meaning I gave him +5 Spd to make up for it. He's also very bulky on the Def side of things, getting up to 62 Def with Alondite or Vague Katti equipped. The only real downside is that his Res is somewhat low for him, but most magic units would need to Flare to kill him since he is so fast, and with 99 HP, there aren't any mages that can one-shot him with it except for I think Soren.
