In the 5G-MOBIX project VTT demonstrated an automated overtaking scenario. Tests were performed in a commercial 5G network in Finland. A vehicle with automated driving capabilities wants to overtake a slower vehicle, but has to delay the overtaking manoeuvre until a faster connected motorcycle has passed. The vehicles exchange information on their trajectories with each other using Manoeuver Coordination messages, transmitted over 5G networks through a MQTT broker.
The tests, show in the video, were made in the framework of the 5G-MOBIX project, where VTT, as partner of the NL Test Site, demonstrated the communication between the vehicles in the Spanish-Portuguese Cross-border Corridor.
