Ribosomal RNA, on the other hand, make of 80-90% of the RNA pool but is typically of little interest. To prevent ribosomal RNA fragments from dominating an RNA-Seq library and taking up unnecessary space on a sequencing chip, they must be depleted before sequencing. The SEQuoia RiboDepletion product employs a novel technology to deplete ribosomal RNA while preserving rare transcripts and small RNAs as well as minimizing the risk of degrading or low abundant samples.
