The Hunter Valley is one of Australia's largest coal mining areas. and the city of Maitland is the main town in the Lower Hunter region. Coal trains run from the mines to the Port of Newcastle, through Maitland , and with trains running 24/7 , you don't have to wait long to catch one. The Main line North also runs through Maitland , so many intermodal and passenger trains also pass through this busy corridor. We are set up at East Maitland, 2 stations south of Maitland Central .
