Australia, New Zealand and international scientific drilling (ANZIC) connects Australian and New Zealand scientists to world-leading scientific drilling programs that have delivered science-with-impact for nearly six decades. This presentation will highlight ANZIC's role in unlocking samples, data and collaborations that provide insight into past and future climate change, geohazards, resources and ecosystem diversity through research into the processes that shape Earth’s lithosphere, biosphere, cryosphere and atmosphere.
This presentation will highlight the impact of international scientific drilling and outline how ANZIC supports scientists at member institutions (including Geoscience Australia) to participate in scientific drilling projects, prepare and submit scientific drilling proposals, influence the direction of international scientific drilling initiatives, benefit from international training opportunities, and to undertake small, ANZIC-funded projects that advance the field of scientific drilling.
