Austin Collie Hospital Pass vs Eagles in 2010 😳

On November 7, 2010, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Austin Collie suffered a severe, highly publicized concussion during a game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Late in the second quarter, quarterback Peyton Manning threw a pass over the middle to Collie, who was immediately sandwiched and hit from both sides by Eagles safeties Quintin Mikell and Kurt Coleman.

Mikell delivered an initial hit, which altered Collie's path and drove him directly into a secondary, helmet-to-helmet collision with Coleman. Collie immediately lost consciousness and exhibited the "fencing response" (arms locking and freezing at his sides) before lying motionless on the turf for nearly 10 minutes. The stadium fell completely silent as medical staff tended to Collie. He was strapped to a backboard, loaded onto a stretcher, and carted off the field. Fortunately, he regained consciousness and alert movement in the locker room shortly after.
