Austal's proven patrol boat platform has evolved from the original 38 metre Bay Class Patrol Boat designed and constructed for the Australian Customs Service - now the Australian Border Force - from 1998 - 2000.

Since then, Austal has produced 74 patrol boats, including the entire border patrol capability for the Commonwealth of Australia, comprising 32 vessels for the Royal Australian Navy and Australian Border Force.
