... I hiked out onto the Empire Bluff to watch the forecast and highly touted display of the northern lights ... I was not disappointed, though it was not as strong as indicated.
When the camera pans to the left, keep an eye to the top of the screen for a freeze frame of a forecast iridium satellite flare ... not a big showing, but a bonus just the same. I did not stay on the bluff for the full aurora show as I wanted to shoot the display over other areas as well ... you can see photos on my flickr stream:
