As a follow up to the rescue video of the bald eagle on feb 1, 2019
(youtube.com/watch?v=Oe5XtDg0FxQ). On Sunday, February 10, 2019, Wings of Wonder invited the public to the release of this bald eagle from the Suttons Bay High School parking lot. The Grand Traverse Band drummers and singers started the event out with a beautiful spiritual song honoring this adult bald eagle. Hundreds of people, of all ages, came to witness the eagle fly free once again. The eagle flew off, towards the Lake Michigan shoreline, with grace, purpose and strength landing on a tree branch about 300 yards away. Within minutes 2 adult bald eagles appeared, soaring overhead, checking out the perched eagle. It was a glorious day indeed.
