A quick test of the audio pre-amps on Sony's PXW-X70 camcorder for the purposes of speech recording such as interviews.

Two mics used: a Sony ECM-XM1 topmic and a Sennheiser ME66/K6 in a Rycote pistol grip. Both around 1 foot away from my mouth (the distance is less relevant than the recording quality).

Recorded in linear PCM; rendered to AAC due to mp4 encoding but at 320kbps.
