🔥 Did Jesus die for your sins… or did the church rewrite the story?
Hey there, my sexy skepticons.
Today’s Cynical Sermon is going straight for the jugular of one of Christianity’s most sacred claims:
👉 The atonement.
You’ve heard it your whole life:
“Jesus died for your sins.”
“The lamb of God.”
“The ultimate sacrifice.”
But what if that entire narrative… doesn’t line up with the text?
💥 In this video, we break it all down:
• The difference between atonement vs. forgiveness (and why they’re NOT the same)
• The Old Testament’s blood economy — where forgiveness is a transaction, not a choice
• Why Leviticus reads more like a divine accounting system than morality
• The prophets quietly admitting… this system doesn’t work
• How Jesus repeatedly forgave people WITHOUT sacrifice
• The radical meaning of the Greek word aphesis — “letting go”
• Why the Prodigal Son destroys substitutionary atonement
• And how Paul flips the script to turn Jesus into a cosmic payment system

If a debt is paid… it isn’t forgiven.
If God requires blood before forgiveness…
👉 That’s not mercy.

• A “loving God” demanding sacrifice looks… disturbingly human
