Neil deGrasse Tyson is not properly an atheist but rather classifies himself as an agnostic. The reason is simple, atheism can't be defended properly and so one is forced philosophically to become a "doubter" or a skeptic. This position is always defensible because of false humility, but occasionally atheists drop their shields and show you who they really are.
