On 28 April, 2020, Astronomers recorded a powerful radio signal coming directly from our Milky Way galaxy. Further research showed that, it is coming from a distant Magnetar, SGR 1935 which was spotted by different telescopes by NASA. NASA has recorded 200+ bursts in just 20 minutes.

Magnetars are the most magnetized objects in the known universe. Powered by the magnetic energy, and not by the rotational energy as in the case of radio pulsars, they have long been regarded as a completely different class of neutron stars.

Magnetars are well known for their enormous magnetic field which can be 1,000 times stronger than Neutron Star. They also emit intense bursts of X-rays and gamma radiation, which is a product of their intense magnetic fields.
